The Trend Large Lock Jig is a professional contractor jig designed for use with a plunge router to cut precise mortises and face plates for larger locks quickly and accurately. Fitted with interchangeable templates, this jig is suitable for DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant lock sizes, making it an essential tool for contractors working on accessible door installations. It accommodates doors from 34mm to 58mm thick and suits DIN style locks. Two face plate templates are included — a 20mm x 235mm radius end and a 24mm x 235mm radius end — alongside a 17mm x 170mm mortise template. An adaptor plate is also provided, allowing the smaller 239mm x 60mm templates (as supplied with the standard LOCK/JIG) to be fitted. For deep mortises, an auger bit and drill will be required in addition to the router. The jig is designed for use with a ½-inch plunge router with 80mm plunge depth, fitted with a 30mm guide bush with 6mm spigot and a 12mm diameter long-reach cutter. A ¼-inch plunge router can be used for face plate work but will not achieve the full mortise depth.
