The Rust-Oleum 2990 Stain Blocker Matt Spray Paint is a high-pigmented aerosol coating designed to permanently seal problem stains before repainting or finishing. Based on a plasticised acrylic resin, this specialist stain-blocking spray is formulated to isolate a wide range of stubborn stains, including nicotine, soot, tar, rust, moisture damage, graffiti, and other difficult discolouration. Its high-pigment, matt white finish provides a solid, uniform base that prevents stains from bleeding through subsequent coats. Suitable for use directly on a broad range of substrates — including ceilings, plaster, cement, wood, concrete, wallpaper, isolation walls, and existing paint — this spray is particularly well suited to renovation and refurbishment projects where stain isolation is required before redecoration. It can be used as a standalone topcoat or overcoated with standard wall paints once dry. With a tack-free time of just five minutes at 20°C and a recoat window of wet-in-wet or after 30 minutes, it supports efficient working on site. Full hardness is achieved within 24 hours.
