Roughneck Hydraulic Manhole Seal Breaker Kit

The Roughneck Hydraulic Manhole Seal Breaker Kit is a purpose-built tool system designed to release bonded domestic manhole covers that have seized through years of dirt, silt and ground movement. The kit centres on a robust steel frame and a 1-tonne hydraulic bottle jack, which applies controlled, consistent upward pressure to crack stubborn seals quickly and safely. A quick-release tip holder allows fast changeover between the included interchangeable key tips, reducing downtime on site. Supplied with both T-key and screw-in tips, the system is compatible with the majority of standard manhole covers found across the UK and Europe — making it a reliable choice for drainage contractors, utilities engineers and maintenance professionals. The 33mm and 22mm T-tips, along with M10 and M12 screw tips, ensure secure engagement across a wide range of cover patterns. The kit also shares tip compatibility with the Roughneck Universal Manhole Key Kit, so once the seal is broken, covers can be lifted efficiently without switching between separate systems. Everything is housed in a durable carry case for organised transport and site protection.
