Handy THTD Towable 10 Tine Scarifier 1m

The Handy THTD Towable 10 Tine Scarifier is a towed de-thatching attachment designed for use with ride-on mowers and garden tractors, making light work of removing the thatch layer from large grassed areas. Thatch — the compacted layer of dead grass, moss, and organic debris that accumulates at the base of a lawn — can restrict water and nutrient absorption, leaving grass struggling to thrive. The THTD uses ten sprung-loaded paired tines to penetrate the turf and pull this material to the surface, restoring a healthy growing environment without the effort of manual raking. Attachment is straightforward using the included hitch pin, which connects to the tow eye on the rear of a compatible tractor or ride-on mower. For thorough results, the manufacturer recommends working in a crisscross pattern across the lawn. A weight tray allows additional ballast to be added where deeper tine penetration is needed, while transport wheels and a single-lever handle make repositioning between passes quick and simple. The 1m working width makes this scarifier well suited to larger domestic lawns, paddocks, and open grassed areas where a pedestrian scarifier would be impractical. It is an efficient seasonal maintenance tool for landowners, groundskeepers, and smallholders looking to keep large areas of turf in good condition.
